  • Pages you visit, the time spent on them, the referring website and the links you click.
03

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use the following types:

Essential cookies

These are needed for the website to work, for example to remember the items in your cart or keep a reservation form working while you fill it in. They cannot be switched off in our systems.

Analytics cookies

These help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular and where visitors leave, so we can improve it. We may use services such as Google Analytics, which set their own cookies and process data on our behalf. Learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising cookies

We do not currently run advertising cookies on this website. If we later use advertising services such as Google Ads, third-party vendors (including Google) may use cookies to show you ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to our site and other sites. We will update this policy, and ask for your consent where the law requires it, before turning on such cookies.

Your choices: You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com, and from many third-party vendors through the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

04

How We Use Your Information

  • To process, confirm and manage your reservations and orders;
  • To contact you about your booking or order, for example to confirm a time or tell you about a change;
  • To answer your questions and requests;
  • To understand how the website is used and to improve its content, speed and usability;
  • To keep the website secure and prevent fraud or misuse;
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

05

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers who help us run the cafĂ© and website, such as website hosting, reservation and online ordering systems, payment processors and email providers. They may only use your data to provide services to us.
  • Analytics providers, such as Google Analytics, who help us measure website traffic and usage.
  • Authorities, such as regulators, courts or law enforcement, where we are required to by law, or where needed to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

Some of these providers may process data outside Kenya. Where this happens, we take steps to make sure your information is adequately protected, as required by the Data Protection Act, 2019.

06

Data Retention & Security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. Reservation and order records are generally kept for up to 24 months. Records we need for tax or accounting reasons are kept for as long as the law requires. Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings of the analytics provider, which is usually no more than 14 months.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and working only with trusted service providers. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

07

Your Rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

  • Be told how your personal data is used;
  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Ask us to correct data that is wrong or misleading;
  • Ask us to delete your data, where the law allows;
  • Object to processing, including for direct marketing;
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time the law allows. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya.
